In a world that often tells girls who they should be, we exist to remind them of who they already are–connected, worthy and limitless.

Redefining Girl Culture. A place to belong. A place to rise. A place to be you.
Redefining Girl Culture. A place to belong. A place to rise. A place to be you.
Today, 1 in 3 girls are experiencing depression, and 60% of girls report persistent feelings of sadness and hopelessness . These statistics underscore the urgent need to move away from superficial performative self-care routines and move towards wholistic mental health support, a strengthening of community, and a redefinition of girl culture.
Wellness
Empowering girls to nurture their minds, bodies, and spirits. Not just a skincare routine, but true self-care, confidence, and resilience.
Community
Creating a sisterhood where every girl feels seen, supported, and celebrated. A place to be, a place to belong, a place to become.
Mentorship
Guiding the next generation with wisdom, leadership, and real-world empowerment, knowing when one girl rises, she lifts others with her.
At Girl Culture, we know that today’s teen girls are navigating more pressures than we ever did. From the endless scroll of social media to the weight of academic performance, friendships, romantic expectations, and self-discovery—it's a lot. And while they are stronger and more self-aware than any generation before them, the world isn’t always set up to support their
well-being.
What are teens up against?
What are teens up against?
01. Social Media & The Comparison Trap
Teen girls are constantly bombarded with curated images of perfection, setting impossible beauty standards and fuelling self-doubt, anxiety, and body image struggles. Add in cyberbullying and the pressure to maintain an online persona, and it’s easy to see why social media can take a toll on their confidence.
02. Academic & Future Pressures
From grades to college applications to the pressure of being “good at everything,” today’s teens are expected to juggle it all—and never drop the ball. Perfectionism and burnout are real, and many girls feel like they have to prove themselves at every turn.
03. Friendship & Social Stress
Teen friendships are powerful—but also intense. The fear of being left out, misunderstood, or not “enough” can chip away at self-esteem and increase anxiety. Add in the complexities of dating, boundaries, and finding their place in the world, and relationships can feel overwhelming.
04. Mental Health Awareness, But Not Enough Support
More girls than ever are aware of their mental health and willing to talk about it—which is a huge step forward. But access to support isn’t always easy, and stigma, financial barriers, and school resources that don’t quite meet their needs can leave them feeling unheard.
05. Society’s Mixed Messages
Be bold, but not too bold. Speak up, but don’t be “too much.” Look effortless, but try your hardest. Girls today are constantly receiving conflicting messages about confidence, beauty, success, and how they “should” show up in the world. It’s exhausting.
06. Global Anxiety & Cultural Shifts
Girls today are deeply aware of the world around them. Climate change, politics, gender rights, social justice—they care, they advocate, and they feel the weight of it all. That kind of awareness is powerful, but without the right tools, it can also be overwhelming.

Meet the Founders
Co-Founders Alison Calder and Fiona Hepher, believe that every self-identifying girl deserves a space where she feels seen, heard, and celebrated. As both educators and girl moms, Ali and Fiona were drawn to each other by their shared hope for a new world.
Girl Culture, and their core program, Grow Girl, are a manifestation of that dream—not only for their own girls, but for all girls. A place where she can meet herself, build confidence, learn beyond the classroom, form meaningful friendships, explore her creativity, and develop the skills to shape her own future.
With backgrounds in high school education, natural healing, sexual wellness, coaching and therapy, Girl Culture aims to create life-changing retreats and workshops to redefine what it means to be girl, and give teens the tools to navigate their next chapter of life with courage, resilience, and joy.

Featured on The Jennifer Hudson Show & awarded the first ever Teacher of Distinction Award, she’s spent her career helping teens develop the self-awareness, resilience, and leadership skills they need to thrive.
Through Girl Culture’s flagship program, Grow Girl, we are creating a movement—one that blends mentorship, mindset, and real-world tools to help girls step into their power. Whether leading retreats, speaking on stage, or building empowerment communities, she’s here to remind every Grow Girl: you are enough, just as you are. Now go shine.
